Hi, I’m Jacob.

I'm passionate about two things in Physiotherapy: Evidence-informed practice and my patients. My patients inspire me to provide the most comprehensive, individualized and effective treatment possible. With six years of University education, and over 20 post-graduate courses completed to date, I utilize the latest scientific evidence to diagnose musculoskeletal dysfunctions, and deliver cutting-edge treatment.

A few of my most valued credentials include:

Level 3 Diploma Of Manual Therapy - Orthopaedic Division of Canadian Physiotherapy Association
Certified Manual Therapist - Swodeam Institute
Level 2 Functional Dry Needling - Kinetacore Physical Therapy Education
Foundations of Anatomical Acupuncture - Acupuncture Canada
Rehab 570 Diagnostic Imaging for Physical Therapists - University of Alberta
Selective Functional Movement Assessment & Functional Movement Screen

I provide one-on-one physiotherapy to members of the public, weekend warriors, amateur athletes, professional athletes, and Olympic athletes. While I treat many elite athletes, I welcome patients of all ages, backgrounds and conditions.

I also treat a variety of clients in their home or workplace. I offer this service on select weekdays, and subject to my work schedule's availability.

I have been involved in the rehabilitation and performance field since 2005.  In addition to my career as a Physiotherapist, I have worked as a Kinesiologist, Personal Fitness Trainer, University Teaching Assistant, and an Athletic Trainer with Acadia University’s Varsity Football Team.  I graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Kinesiology (Specializing in Sports Rehabilitation), and Queen’s University with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy.

I spend most of my leisure time playing in the mountains.  In the summer I tend to spend most of my time alpine climbing, rock climbing, scrambling and trail running.  In the winter I spend most of the my ice climbing, backcountry skiing, and cross-country skiing.  My understanding of most sports allows me to better understand your injury, how your injury relates to your sport, and will allow us to appropriately design your rehabilitation program.

My mission is to provide the highest quality Physiotherapy service to clients in Canmore and Banff. In addition, I hope to provide meaningful education using my blog on this website. Some topics may be geared towards Physiotherapists, and others towards athletes or the general population. Please feel free to comment, add insight, or ask questions! The rehab world often has multiple ways to look at the same problem, and as a professional in a state of perpetual growth, I would love to discuss any topic with you!

Enjoy!
